Clearwater, FL – Savannah native George J. Ott , age 86, died May 7, 2006 at Mease Hospital in Dunedin, Fl. He graduated salutatorian in 1938 from Benedictine Military Academy and then enlisted in the United States Army serving with General Patton in the 20th Armored Division during World War II. Mr. Ott moved to Florida forty-nine years ago and retired from CSX Railroad in 1982, after forty-two years of service. He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Dunedin, FL
Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Anita Ott of Clearwater, FL; two sisters, Anne O’Neill and Mary Morse of St. Petersburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in Bonaventure Cemetery.
